•Okay, you’re an awesome dancer - when did you start, where did you start, and what made you keep dancing?
Ah, thank you so much! I started dancing when I was 3 years old at local studios in Riverside, Ca. Then, when I was in high school, I decided my training needed to be taken to the next level and to audition for Mather Dance Company in Placentia, Ca. (If you haven't heard of them, look up their Youtube and you'll be amazed by their pieces!) And now I am signed with Go2 Talent Agency so that I am able to dance professionally. Quitting dance has never entered my mind. It's hard to explain but it's definitely more than just a hobby that I love doing. It's literally my life. If I go a day without dancing, I go crazy, haha.
•Since this is your time to brag a little, tell us about your greatest dance accomplishments thus far?
Hmm, some of my favorite dance accomplishments… well, I am one of the dancers in the movie Ted 2, if you've seen it, there's a huge dance number in the beginning of the movie. (I always want to clarify because I get confused looks form people when I say I'm in that movie, haha!) Another accomplishment would have to be being captain this year of the dance team for the Los Angeles Arena Football Team, LA Kiss. Also, in the past year I have been assisting well-known teacher Krista Miller at workshops all over the world. We've been to Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, Canada, and all over the US, which has been amazing. I am also starting to get into doing master classes and choreography of my own as well. In fact, my coach for LA Kiss, Lindsay Rodolico, gave me the opportunity to choreograph a game day routine which was super exciting and I was very proud of!
•So, the LA Kiss huh? How did you get started with that?
Well, I've never actually been a "dance team" girl. Even growing up I didn't do dance teams in school. But, last year when I got the audition call for LA Kiss it intrigued me. Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of the legendary band Kiss starting a football team…? Pretty interesting. And the dancers need to be edgy, strong, and "not cookie-cutter" girls..? Even more interesting. The audition was so much fun, filled with hair whips, body rolls, and thrashing movements, the complete opposite of what you would expect form a sports dance team… and I loved it! And to add to the suspense and excitement, they were filming for a reality show on AMC last season so the chance to get on TV drew a lot of girls to the audition. For the past two seasons, the choreography has allowed us girls some freedom to add our own style into it. That's one of the reasons why I love it!
•What are some of the perks that come with being an LA Kiss girl?
One of the perks of being an LA Kiss girl is that we get a lot of free stuff, hehe. We get work out clothes, hair products, spray tans, make up, all the fun stuff! And we also get a lot of fun opportunities! For example, we've been invited to tapings of So You Think You Can Dance, the 2015 ESPYS, WNBA LA Sparks Games, the E3 convention, and many other events. We also have gotten to do fun photoshoots for many of our sponsors, local magazines, and for CBS. Last season, because of the reality show, me and a few other girls were chosen to do a lot of promos for the show with Gene and Paul and that was great exposure!
•Besides dancing, what else do you do?
Besides dancing, I'm very passionate about my health and staying active. I love exercising and trying new things for my work outs. At the moment, I'm really into yoga, crossfit, and running. I've also been getting into more modeling this past year. Nothing too major yet, but I've shot for some active wear brands, make up brands, and have done a lot of promo shoots for things in the dance industry. And then my most favorite thing to do when I am not dancing is relax at home with my family and dogs. My life is pretty crazy since I'm always working and traveling, so I savor every minute I have at home with them.
•What do you think is next in your future?
Next up with my life, I plan on moving to Orange County which gets me super excited and continuing to audition in LA! I have a lot of traveling already scheduled for the rest of the year with dance workshops and I would love for that to continue on for years to come! ;) haha.. And I would love to not only get more involved with choreography for studios, but with professional sports dance teams as well! I've also been really eager to sign with a modeling/print agency, but I need to wait until my schedule relaxes a little bit to find time for that. However, dance will always be my main priority. I've fallen in love with inspiring people through my dancing so if I can do that for the rest of my life, I will!

•Any advice to those who want to dance professionally or in the sports-world?
My best advice for those who want to be a professional dancer is to always remain true to yourself. It's so easy to get caught up in what your peers are doing around you, especially with social media these days. But you have to remember that you are on your own path. I've learned that the more genuine I am with my career, the happier I feel! I also want all aspiring dancers to know that the harder you work, the more successful you'll be. It might not come as quick as you want, but trust the universe and God that all your hard work will pay off one day. Don't give up on your dreams even if things aren't going your way. Oh! One more tip! Take care of your body. We are athletes, and our bodies do incredible things, so we need to be good to it.
