The journey began years ago when I picked up my parents bulky camcorder and began filming. Over 10 years later, I’m still at it. I created a YouTube channel and blog, Arianna Jonae, to share my life, my discoveries, and my journey with the world. Subscribe and join the ride!

•Give me three words that describe you:
Animated, PLL-Addict, Curly
•I love your YouTube channel, how did you decide to get started and what inspired you?
In the 5th grade, I picked up my parent’s bulky camcorder for a school project on how movies were made. Problem is, I never put the camera back down. I created all sorts of videos with my barbies, fake television shows where I played multiple characters, and even made music videos. Once I discovered YouTube in 8th grade, I signed up and began posting. It was such a fun hobby of mine and a great way to get my creative juices flowing. I didn’t take my channel seriously until about 10th grade when I saw people like Fred getting “discovered” and shows like iCarly were super popular. I ended up making a brand new channel, which is the one I have now. After a while, I hopped on the beauty guru bandwagon and that’s when my channel started to grow. Recently I’ve started to get back to my roots by adding more skits and fun videos to my channel. As far as inspiration goes, I would have to say everyday life. What’s hot in entertainment news? What trend is everyone trying? What is everybody talking about? I like to think of those things when I make videos so I can put my own personal twist on it.
•Besides your awesome channel, what else are you up to?
I’m currently in school to become an entertainment host! My dream job is to have a talk show so I’m using YouTube as a platform to get to my end goal.
•How much work goes into making a video and do you do it on your own, or who helps you?
When people say YouTubing is hard work, they are NOT lying! Once I come up with an idea for a new video, I get straight to planning. I write out a shot list and write down talking points for the intro, outro, and the products that I need to mention. Next, it’s time to film! Most of the time I drag my boyfriend out to shoot for me. Sometimes when I need to film quickly, I’ll just use my tripod. After I film, I go straight to editing. I’ll add effects, transitions, music, voiceover, and make sure the video is as perfect as I can make it. This usually takes a few hours. After exporting and uploading (on private) I create a thumbnail for the video and enter all the tags and info in the description box. This can take another 30 minutes to an hour. Then finally I can set the video to public and let my subscribers watch!
•What are a few of your must-have beauty products?
I absolutely LOVE Shea Moisture’s Coconut Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie. It’s GREAT for curly hair! Another favorite of mine is LA Girl Pro Conceal. It’s a great dupe for the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer but it’s waaaaay cheaper. I’ve been using it for about a year now and I LOVE it. And of course a beauty essential of mine is lip-gloss or lipstick. In the words of Lil Mama, “my lip-gloss is POPPIN!”
•Have you ever worked with any brands?
I’ve worked with a lot of brands on videos and blog posts. I mostly do video collaborations, but I’m getting more into blog collaborations as well. One of my favorite companies to work with was What R U Wearing! I even got to hang out in Chicago for the WRUW Girl Brunch with a few of my favorite YouTubers! I also love working with clothing companies because lookbooks are so much fun to make.
•If you could, would you redo the “brand” of your YouTube channel?
I actually just redesigned all of my graphics and I’m working on new video concepts for my channel. I want my channel to have more of an entertainment show vibe.
-Who are some of your YouTube/beauty muses?
ShamelessMaya is one of my absolute FAVE YouTubers of all time. She’s so real, so fun, and does more than just the basic fashion and beauty videos. She does camera tutorials, Photoshop tutorials, vlogs, and even lip sync music videos. She’s amazing! Another favorite of mine is MyLifeAsEva. She is seriously #GOALS! I also love Alisha Marie, Evelina Barry, Mia Stammer, Niki and Gabi, MsFabulousTeeks, and iamjamessss. There are a ton of other YouTubers I love, but those are the first that come to mind.
•Let’s finish this off with a bang, tell me the strangest thing about yourself?
The strangest thing about myself… that’s tough! I’m pretty weird! I eat weird things. Like soaking lemons in vinegar then eating them with salt and pepper. It sounds gross but it is seriously sooo good! I love sour things.
