Something about the word gloss is a little intimidating, but totally achievable. Like how high shine lip-gloss can make way more of a statement than a matte choice, or how when at a friend’s birthday someone’s gift had glossy tissue paper and everyone else’s had plain – Gloss is intimidating but totally achievable!
Applying to be Ediotr-In-Gloss was a bit of the same scenario, intimidating, but I know with a lot of passion, and a little bit of gloss, it is too, something I can achieve!
While growing up, I was always told that being a well-rounded person was the key to being successful in any aspect of life. Throughout my college and recent graduate experience, I have attempted to try on as many hats as possible when it came to jobs, internships, and volunteer work.
Finding myself stuck in a world full of “matte” I decided it was time to find my “gloss” and that was definitely in the excitement that is social media!
Now, I don’t own a professional camera, I don’t use Hootsuite to manage my own personal platforms, and I sometimes volunteer my boyfriend to do mini photo shoots to get cool shots, but my real excitement and energy comes from everything that surrounds creating a brand on social media that’s alive for anyone and everyone to see! Whether it’s your own personal account or one for an organization, being dedicated and immersing yourself in their culture (or just being completely true to yourself) will shine through (in my book, that's called being "glossy")!
To be honest, I’m not sure how much shine and gloss can be added to an amazing company like L’oreal, but I do know I like to try on intimidating hats, and wearing a shiny, hot pink hat would be the glossing on top of the matte!
(Disclaimer: I honestly do like matte lipstick, this analogy was just too perfect not to use!!)
